I have to be honest, I am super proud of the the next two DIY projects I did for Charlotte! I made a yellow pillow with a hand sewn love detail and some DIY cake stands!! I started with a picture, and figured out how to make them as I went along, so when they actually turned out the way I wanted them to? I seriously almost burst! :)
So again, I was super high tech about this :) I started out by making a pattern for my love decal using a highlighter and white piece of paper. :)
After I had the word looking how I wanted it to, I cut it out so it was more like a pattern.
This is a picture of the first love decal I made! It didn't work out so well :) I realized I had to trace the word backwards so that when it was sewed onto the pillow, none of the pen showed!
So I tried again!
Pretty good this time, if I do say so myself!
Then I hand sewed the word onto the pillow! And I just LOVE the way it turned out!! LOL!
Next up in my DIY-a-thon were some hand made cake stands. Here's what I used!
I started with plain wooden candlesticks, plain wooden circles, dollhouse shingles, paint, heavy duty glue, scissors, and a paint brush!
First I spray painted the candlesticks and circles white. Next, I cut each of the dollhouse shingles so that the edges were rounded on one side! Then I painted them!
After the shingles were painted (2 coats looked great!) I superglued them onto the round wooden circles. Then secured that to the candlestick bases! Voila! Three cake stands!
I'm off to set up our American Honey themed reception! I cannot wait to show you how everything comes together today!
