Alright blog friends! Allow me to usher in your evening with a little bit o' sweetness I like to call Kavi & David's engagement shoot. These two are getting married in NY next weekend, and we met up with them recently in Brooklyn to hang out & shoot a quick engagement shoot for them. Add one drop dead gorgeous couple, the cutest little side street you've ever seen, an old school umbrella, and some warm & churn-worthy light....and you've got yourself the perfect recipe for some homemade eye candy. In every flavor. I'm just sayin. :)
Yea, pick up that jaw...I told you they were gorgeous!! Didn't believe me?
David KNOWS how to work the camera. But it makes sense and all, since he did just get some practice with his spread in Esquire that came out last month. Sheesh! :)
Kavi you are all things beautiful.
Besides being such a hot couple, these two are a power couple as well! :) They own a perfume business together that makes products for a few stores you just *might* have heard of....y'know like Anthropologie!!
Yea they are really, really GOOD looking. They've got Blue Steel down.
David is one funny guy!
LOOOVE this set!
Kavi & David, you two are amazing! Thank you so much for spending the day with us. We can't wait for next weekend!
I took Honors Calculus in high school, and it wasn't this hard. Derivative integers and the Intermediate Value Theorem? Pssht. Child's Play. Candy Land. Nerf ball.
I took Constitutional Law in undergrad with Dr. John Kilwein... and it wasn't this hard. Marbury v. Madison with the man whose final exams put the "kill" back in....well....Kilwein? Pish Posh. A walk in a flowery meadow compared to this. A cool summer's day. (PS: Dr. Kilwein if you ARE by some chance reading this, I hope you know you kicked my butt... and I am thankful to you everyday for it).
I took a Federal Income Tax exam in law school after a stunning bout of stomach flu, and it still wasn't this hard. Capital gains and subsection 1031(h)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code? Ok, well those still make me want to throw up today. But it wasn't as hard as this! :)
My inbox was flooded yesterday with fabulous design boards from around the country. There was so much designy-goodness dripping in each and every one, that Julia and I spent hours just drooling at the screen. And we had to narrow them down to just five?? Yea, NOW you see just how hard this was. It was grueling. It was torture. It was absolutely excruciating to close those photoshop windows one by one. But in the end, five stood strong. We picked them not so much for color palette or specific items (although there are some pretty fantastic items in there), but for the overall vibe we're going for in the room.
And now, we're opening up the voting up to you, our readers, to pick the ultimate winner. The top five finalists in no particular order are:
Congratulations guys!! So go on, get your vote on! To the top five finalists, I would encourage you to blog/fb/tweet it and help get the vote out. C'mon, there's a $100 Home Depot card on the line here. And I have a feeling this one is going to come down to the wire. :)
**Voting will close at 5pm EST on Friday!!! So hurry!
***ETA: Oh yea, we almost forgot to congratulate the winner of our Ice Cream contest, Miss Courtney Ann with bubble gum flavored!! Congrats Courtney! Just shoot us an email at email@example.com with your addy & we'll get those Godivas right out to ya!
Today when Julia came into work, she totally rocked my socks clean off with this birthday present. Or should I say presents. Plural. Plurale. Many. Because Julia....well, Julia is the kind of girl who does awesome in multiple degrees. And we love her for it!! :)
And, thanks to her, it looks like I'm off to an excellent start on that office makeover. Just a few more minutes to get those design boards in if you haven't yet!!
Happy Tuesday afternoon all!
Gotta love those tell tale brown boxes that can mean only one thing....Anthropologie!! Julia is an Anthropologie goddess. She has ahh-mazing taste! Just check out that nautical rope magnifying glass. Gah!!
Those other two brown boxes contained this killer "M" on a stand (right) and the book etcetera: creating beautiful interiors with the things you love (left). It is the coolest thing I've ever seen. Ever.
Like this spread for example! Love it!
Thank you Julia Gulia!!!!! I hope that you know how honored I am to get to call you my friend. For real.
About a week ago, we released our second "Walk Through a Wedding w/ J&M" Workshop to our newsletter and almost all of the seats sold out the first day. We do have just a couple spaces left and they will go first come, first serve. So shoot us an email quick like a bunny if you want one of them! firstname.lastname@example.org. All of the details are below!
**We are almost there on our brand spankin new newsletter, which we will be launching early next month. I'm going to be blogging soon for how to sign up for the new one, so hold off on emailing about it just yet por favor! :)
It is about to get all sorts of crazy up in here and we need YOUR help. The next room we plan on tackling in the house is my office, and frankly we're kind of stuck. Because I don't just want it to be a desk and a computer stuck in there. If I'm going to be spending hours of my life everyday in there....I want it to be a beautiful, calming room as well. Know what I mean? I have a few ideas bouncing around in my head, but I don't know if I have a clear vision for it yet.
So. what does my dream office look like? I want it to be Coastal Living meets Restoration Hardware meets Anthropologie. Does that paint a clear picture? Yea, I didn't think so.
But it's a start. And I need your help getting to the finished.
So, we are putting a call out to all of our readers to submit design boards (900 pixels wide, por favor) and we are going to narrow it down to our favorite five to put on the blog. Then you guys are going to get to vote on the winner. Now I'm not promising that we're going to end up decorating the office exactly like the winning design board, but I am hoping to get a ton of ideas in the process. And I *am* promising that the winner of the design board challenge will get a $100 gift card to Home Depot. Not bad right? :)
** To enter, just email your design board to email@example.com by no later than 5pm EST tomorrow! If you don't know how to make a design board no worries, just send us an email with the pictures of the stuff you like attached and we'll put it together for you if you're one of the top 5. And even if you don't end up entering the contest, definitely leave us a comment with some things you think we should definitely include in the new office. We need the ideas!
