Today we are SO excited to share a wedding that was one of the biggest honors of our lives to get to photograph! Heather is not only a fellow photographer, but a dear friend, and someone who has been one of our biggest cheerleaders from the very beginning of our business. We got to meet Mike a few years later when the two started dating & from the very first time we met him, we just adored him (and them together) and we knew this was a forever kind of thing. So when the two of them asked us to be their photographers, we were SO happy and we knew even a year ago when they booked us that this was going to be the most amazing day!
And BOY were we right!! :)
From the absolutely STUNNING decor (Heather's mom did all of the incredible flowers herself....how amazing is that?!) to the beautiful bridesmaids (two of which are Heather's awesome sisters who surprised everyone & sang during the ceremony....LOVE those Colt girls!) to the gorgeous, SO in love couple to all of the amazing, emotional moments during the day (I definitely even lost it myself!) ....this was the kind of wedding that reminds us of why we do what we do, sets our hearts on fire, and makes us feel like the luckiest people on the planet that this is what we get to do for a job!
Heather & Mike, we LOVE you guys!! This was the BEST day ever! And we can't wait to hug you again soon!
SO SO much love!
We absolutely LOVE shooting on the gorgeous rocky coast of Maine!! The light, the beaches, the dramatic skies....it is a New England dream!! And Jenny & Mike's stunning day in Sorrento is the perfect example of that! All day there were threats of rain, but it all held off until it got dark, so we were able to shoot all along the coast with the most amazing light dipping in just below these incredible gray clouds! Add to that some of the cutest flower girls ever and mini lobster rolls as far as the eye could see, and we were in heaven! Enjoy!
Amy & Sid had an incredible day, and like we said, it was basically like they had TWO weddings all in one!! The morning started off with the Hindu ceremony, with its own First Look, Ceremony, Portraits & Reception. And it was followed in the afternoon with the Western ceremony, with a second First Look, even more fun portraits, and a party that had every guest up and dancing all night long!
There was laughter and hugs and tears and joy. There was bright sun, downpours that always cleared just in time, and beautiful golden light. In short it was a full day. A day full of all the things that matter most. And we were just the ones lucky enough to be there to capture it.
Being at Amy & Sid's wedding actually traces back all the way to one of the first weddings that Justin & I ever shot together: Alana & Dan. Alana & Dan had a best man, Kartik who hired us when he was getting married. And at his wedding, one of his groomsmen was Manu. And when Manu's brother Sid was getting married to the love of his life in Amy...he told them we had to be there too! And the coolest part: Alana & Dan were at the wedding, so it all came full circle!!
Amy & Sid had their amazing day at the absolutely gorgeous Crystal Springs Resort, and with its rolling hills and stunning light it reminded me more of Virginia than New Jersey! We LOVED it there! Here are just a few of our faves from this incredible day! Enjoy!
We are SO excited to share this wedding with you guys today!!
Ashley & Kyle got married at the absolutely BEAUTIFUL Tidewater Inn on the Eastern Shore this past weekend. And they had SUCH a gorgeous day! From their stunning pink, peach & gold details (I mean how amazing is that ruffled linen for their escort cards?!), to girls in long pink dresses and guys in all black tie (our favorite!), to the charming town of Easton and how gorgeous the inn is itself, to one of the most beautiful (inside AND out) couples we have ever had the honor to photograph....this whole wedding was just incredible!
Ashley & Kyle are two of the sweetest people you could ever meet, and as soon as we met both of their families we knew why....the whole crew was just amazing! And that includes one of the kindest (and most cooperative!) bridal parties we've ever met too. The weather was absolutely perfect that day and every single person who was there just loved this couple SO much!
Add to that, that we got to work with one of the nicest, most cool under pressure, top of her game coordinators ever in Melanie at The Tidewater Inn and the incredibly talented Monteray Farms for some of the prettiest flowers we've ever seen...and it just made for the perfect day!
Ashley & Kyle, there will never be enough words to tell you how much we adore the both of you & how grateful we are to have been your photographers and now friends! We love you guys! The world needs more people like you!
We walked into the bridal suite and we were instantly greeted with hugs & "Justin & Mary are here!!!" That's when we knew it was going to be an amazing day!
This past Saturday we had the absolute honor of shooting our second Mulrane girl's wedding!! We shot Erin's sister, Kristin's wedding when she married an amazing man in Bill a few years ago. And this weekend we got to watch Erin do the same thing with an absolutely amazing man in Christian. AND Kristin & Bill's absolutely adorable little girl Madeline was the flower girl (who you guys might remember as baby Carlos at our Halloween party!) So it was pretty much a Mulrane reunion love fest for all of us! :)
There are days that a photographer could order up as their perfect scenario for shooting a wedding....and this day was IT! During the first look (which we absolutely LOVE that Erin & Chris opted to do! It was such a stress free day because of it!) we had soft gray clouds, a cool breeze, and gorgeous light! That doesn't always happen in mid-July so we were over the moon about it! And then when we went back out for their evening portraits (have I mentioned how much I LOVE these guys....they gave us so much time to shoot & all of these beautiful portraits are the result of it!) the clouds broke away and golden light poured in across the water. It was perfect!
Erin & Chris got married at the Wilton Library, so I just LOVED how they carried that theme through all of their details from the card catalogue program holder to the book centerpieces (which Erin hand painted herself!) to the book mark place cards to the dictionary guest book. SO awesome! Even their cake had book rosettes on it! I just love when a couple takes their day and makes it so personal & their own!
But maybe my favorite part of the day would have to be when Chris said his vows to Erin. We have been shooting weddings for a long time now (8 years for me, 11 years for Justin) and these were hands down some of my favorite vows EVER. They were heartfelt, poetic, honest, and in that moment there wasn't a doubt in my mind that Chris is going to love Erin forever. And I love my Mulrane girls....so this made my heart very very happy indeed.
If that was my favorite part, then coming in at a very very close second would have to be when Kristin stood to give her Maid of Honor speech....and ended up rapping it to Eminem's 8 Mile song instead! AMAZING!
I told you I love these girls! AND the incredible men that have stolen both of their hearts!
To Erin & Chris (and the whole Mulrane & Qualey crew!) thank you for letting us feel like the luckiest photographers ever to get to be a part of your lives. And thank you for making us feel like just part of the family. We love you all! Love like this always.
