Girish Well in Indian cuisine, we have loads of stuff that go as breakfast. Even very heavy fuels go as breakfast ;) My favorite would be idlis, medu vada or dosas with chutney and sambhar...Am hungry ;)  Jul 27, 2010, 11:41pm

Karen (Mikols) Bonar HOW ON THE PLANET EARTH DO YOU COOK STEEL CUT OATS IN 5 MINUTES???? seriously. It takes like an hour for me to cook 1 cup of them. Where have I gone wrong?  Jul 27, 2010, 6:12pm

Brandy Frank sadly, my breakfast today was 1/2 of a chocolate chip cookie. I really need to start eating real breakfast again. thanks for this post!  Jul 27, 2010, 4:02pm

Tiffany Homemade "Egg McMuffin" that is waaaay healthier than Micky D's version: toasted whole wheat English muffin, 1 oz. Reduced Fat Cabot Cheddar Cheese, 1 egg (pop it in the microwave for 45 seconds), 1 slice tomato, and add a dusting of organic flaxseed meal. Less than 5 minutes to a healthy, tasty breakfast sandwich that you can take on the run!  Jul 27, 2010, 3:41pm

Alison My go to that I can do with my eyes closed is one cup of non fat yogurt and one cup of cerel (or whatever the serving size is for the kind in hand) with a splash of almond milk. I recently discovered chocolate chex and have become addicted to them with yogurt! I also do a smoothie with 3/4 cup yogurt, 1 cup frozen strawberries (we flash freeze about 40 pounds during the season to keep it cheap!) and 1/4 cup almond milk. very yummy and easy!  Jul 27, 2010, 1:00pm

Heather Corporan Blueberry and blackberry oatmeal, in similar fashion, except I add them to the oatmeal as it cooks down so the entire bowl is ooey gooey berrilicious! I buy the berries in bulk when they are fresh and on sale, and freeze them so we always have them on hand! YUM-O. My 5 year old LOVES it, and it's dirt cheap and HEALTHY!!! Sometimes I also add walnuts :D We also make our own crunchy granola - I'll message you our recipe on FB, you'll LOVE IT!  Jul 27, 2010, 10:26am

Nichole French toast has been a favorite of mine since grade school. Lately though, on weekends when we wake up together we like to make a "European" style breakfast with various fruits, yogurt, bread/rolls, cheese, juice and homemade lattes.  Jul 27, 2010, 9:32am

Rupa A Flax Seed Waffle topped with peanut butter or almond butter, blueberries on top of that and drizzled with agave! Talk about a power breakfast (or snack)!  Jul 27, 2010, 9:30am

Grant I have plain, unsweetened oatmeal with a big handful of blueberries mixed in when I'm trying to watch my weight (now)... with a little bit of brown sugar on top when I'm feeling like a treat! :D  Jul 27, 2010, 9:16am

gina Non-fat, plain greek yoghurt, sweetened with a dash of cinnamon, tsp of vanilla and tsp of agave nectar. Add a little fruit and Go-Lean Crunch cereal.  Jul 27, 2010, 9:13am

MM @Blueeyedyonder: I totally believe it! That's how I feel about the oatmeal! This smoothie sounds awesome...definitely going to give it a try!  Jul 27, 2010, 9:09am

BlueEyedYonder When I have to eat and run, I like to whip up a blueberry smoothie. 1 cup blueberries, 1 cup oranginc soy milk, 2 heaping spoonfuls of organic plain yogurt, 1 ripe banana and a dollop of honey. There's so much goodness packed in my cup, it keeps me going all morning long. (Believe it or not, it will actually make you look forward to waking up.)  Jul 27, 2010, 9:07am

Molly Kate I make an omelet every day for breakfast. Perfect to get fueled for the day. A little cheese and broccoli and I'm out the door. A quick stop at my favorite Starbucks and I'm off to the office.  Jul 27, 2010, 8:41am

Samantha Harkins Bagels with peanut butter. Perfect mix of carbs and protein, and they keep me happy until lunch!  Jul 27, 2010, 8:38am
